绿色生产:以先进制造实现低碳交付
在生产阶段,药明生物持续发挥一次性生产技术(SUT)和工艺创新优势,推动绿色制造从理念走向规模化实践。相较传统不锈钢生产工艺,SUT最高可节约70%水资源、减少约33%资源消耗,减少约40%气候变化负面影响;其生命周期末端处理的环境影响仅占1%–3%,基本可忽略。尽管如此,公司坚持负责任的废弃物管理,通过零废弃物填埋、废弃物能源化利用、持续减少SUT废弃物和探索更环保的SUT回收方案,进一步降低生产环节环境影响。

Green Manufacturing: Advancing low-carbon manufacturing with cutting-edge tech
In manufacturing, WuXi Biologics continues to leverage single-use technology (SUT) and process innovation to scale green manufacturing in practice. Compared with traditional stainless-steel processes, SUT can save up to 70% of water resources, reduce resource consumption by approximately 33%, and lower climate change impact by approximately 40%. The environmental impact of its end-of-life treatment is only 1–3%, making the overall impact negligible. Nonetheless, the company remains committed to responsible waste management through zero waste to landfill, waste-to-energy treatment, continuous SUT waste reduction, and exploration of more environmentally friendly and regulatory-feasible SUT recycling solutions, further reducing environmental impact in manufacturing.
In addition, combining WuXiUI™ and SUT can achieve up to an 80% product-carbon-footprint (PCF) reduction per gram of protein, providing clients with manufacturing solutions that deliver both environmental and operational value. WuXi Biologics also leverages its in-house PCF and lifecycle assessment (LCA) modeling and calculation capabilities to support cradle-to-gate lifecycle carbon footprint assessments, empowering clients to build product-level carbon transparency. into global operations

In 2025, more than 95% of WBS Kaizen projects generated ESG benefits, including reductions in carbon emissions, water consumption and waste generation.
