Epidemiology of Acute Sports Injuries in Hong Kong Elite Fencing Athletes
The objective of this epidemiological study is to investigate the injury mechanisms and determinants of fencing-related injuries at the elite level, filling the knowledge gap in fencing epidemiology. The study will analyze specific factors such as injury types, injury body areas, injury severity, exposure data, incidence rates, relative risks, and injury mechanisms. The findings from the study will contribute to the further development of evidence-based injury prevention strategies to enhance the safety and performance of elite fencers.

The inclusion criteria include fencing athletes who are part of the Hong Kong fencing team at the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) who have received treatment for an injury by in-house physiotherapists at the Sports Medicine Center (SMC) at HKSI.；
