this study was conducted to identify the association of gall stone disease with certain dietary intake and BMI in our population as local data is deficient in this regard. moreover, the dietry habits in our population are bit different from the western population.

入选标准

All female patients above 25 years of age with symptomatic gall stones on upper abdominal ultrasonography as cases and all patients( females) above 25 years of age with no gall stones on upper abdominal ultrasonography (done for any reason) as controls were included in the study；

排除标准

Patient with gall stones having some other clear predisposing cause for gallstone formation other than weight and dietary fat intake (e.g. Stoma, Sudden weight loss etc.).；
