试验目的

1. To estimate the population attributable fractions of established modifiable risk factors for incident dementia in older adults in Hong Kong using locally derived prevalence and effect size estimates. 2. To identify additional sociodemographic, clinical, lifestyle, and psychosocial risk and protective factors for incident dementia and cognitive decline in the Hong Kong Chinese population. 3. To establish a territory-wide Hong Kong Dementia Registry capturing standardised clinical characteristics and longitudinal data on cognition, functional abilities, comorbidities, treatment, health and social service usage, and survival.

Participants for Risk Factor Study Inclusion criteria 1. Aged 45 years old or above 2. Hong Kong citizens 3. Able to read Chinese 4. Able to self-complete a Chinese online dementia risk factor survey 5. Consent to participate in the risk factor study People with potential or confirmed cognitive impairment for Dementia Registry Inclusion criteria 1. Aged 45 years old or above 2. Hong Kong citizens 3. Potential or confirmed cognitive impairment (dementia is defined as AD8≧2) [58] 4. Able to take part in data collection 5. Consent to register in the Dementia Registry Caregivers of people with potential or confirmed cognitive impairment for Dementia Registry Inclusion criteria 1. Aged 18 years old or above 2. Caregivers of participants #2 3. Able to take part in data collection 4. Consent to participate in the Dementia Registry Participants for Risk Factor Study Inclusion criteria1.
