An Acceptance and Commitment Therapy – Caregiver Support Program (ACT-CSP) for family caregivers of patients receiving palliative care: A feasibility study
1) To test the feasibility, acceptability and preliminary efficacy of an acceptance and commitment therapy for supporting caregiver programme (ACT-CSP) on reduction of caregiver burden, anxiety and depressive symptoms and enhancement of caregiving self-efficacy, resilience and quality of life by ACT when compared to usual care, for caregivers of palliative care patients; 2) To explore ACTs potential impact on patients symptom burden.

After collecting participant's informed consent, a research assistant will randomly assign the participant to either ACT-CSP or TAU arm using the pre-prepared envelopes. Caregivers will be randomized to either the two arms by block randomization with varying block sizes.
Both the caregivers and the intervention facilitator cannot be blinded due to the intervention nature. All the outcome assessors will be blinded.

Caregivers will be eligible if they are (1) aged >=18 years; (2) self- or patient-identified as a family caregiver of an adult patient receiving palliative care at the study site; (3) have been taking care of the patient in the past 3 months; (4) able to communicate in Cantonese at the time of recruitment;
