The mediating role of cognitive fusion, experiential avoidance, and low self-esteem in self-critical perfectionism and depression/anxiety: A randomized controlled trial on ACT-based program
Study 1: - Provide a model to the existing understanding of the relationship between self-critical perfectionism and depression/anxiety as well as the underlying mechanisms. - Identify prominent factors such that intervention can be developed to mitigate self-critical perfectionists from developing depression/anxiety. Study 2: - Test the efficacy of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as a low-intensity early intervention for those at risk for depression and anxiety. - Conduct a focus group analysis on those high in self-critical perfectionism. - Examine the impact of therapeutic alliance on treatment effect. - Test the model as proposed in Study 1 with this longitudinal data.
