1. To evaluate if specific characteristics of fundus images are significantly associated with major depression disorder as compared to healthy individuals; 2. To explore the use of fundus retinal images as a screening tool for the detection of major depression disorder.

1. Aged >18 years; 2. Willing to sign the inform consent; 3. Willing to comply with procedures required in the protocol; 4. Cases: Adults who are clinically diagnosed with major depression disorder by psychiatrist in accordance to the international diagnostic guidelines; 5. Controls: Adults without diagnosis of major depression disorder.；

Subjects with other eye diseases which are not suitable for retinal imaging, such as severe cataract, glaucoma, atretopsia, corneal plague; 3. Subjects are distress with flashlight or have experience with photosensitive seizure; 4. Unwillingness or inability to comply with procedures required in the protocol.；
